Last week I purchased this coat pattern
I wanted to try it out the minute I bought it but didn't have a chance until today. The verdict.... I am in love!
Such a cute spring coat and would also be an adorable dressy coat with matching skirt or dress. Check out the one I made for my 4 year old this afternoon.
You can't tell from the photo but the outer part of the coat is a buttery soft yellow corduroy. You also need to see the lining....
I love this fabric, and the best part is, this coat is reversible!
I purchased the pattern from DMK Easywear on Etsy. Karen, the owner of this Etsy shop, has several children's patterns, from coats (both boy and girl), to hoodies, jumpers and pants. All of her patterns are in PDF format which means that once they are purchased, they are emailed to you and can be printed out on your regular home printer and you can get started immediately. I love that! I hate waiting for patterns in the mail!
Not only does she have all of these adorable children's clothing patterns but she also has several toy patterns in her other Esty shop Dear My Kids. Check out this tea set, isn't it absolutely adorable?!
I've never tried making felt toys but her toy patterns are so tempting!
Ok, so this is where we get to the giveaway part! Go and check out the adorable childrens patterns on DMK Easywear, or the amazing toy patterns on Dear My Kids. Come back and leave me a comment letting me know what your absolute favorite pattern is. You have until Saturday 7pm PST to enter. I will then draw TWO numbers. Karen, of Dear My Kids, has graciously offered to give two lucky readers a pattern of their choice free!
Now, to make the giveaway even sweeter, if you are also a follower of my blog I will also purchase a second pattern for each of the winners, so you will receive not one, but two patterns!
Good luck everyone, please only one comment per person!

My favorite pattern is the PRETTY RUFFLED WRAP PINAFORE DRESS. Though my sewing skills are advanced basic (is that possible? :-)) and the pattern info says the pinafore is easy, I wonder how successful I would be on the first try? Certainly worth learning!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am jealous of your extra sewing time!
Lots of cute patterns...It's hard to pick :)
ReplyDeleteI think my favorites are the coat pattern you picked and the cute "Big ribbon pleated skirt pants"... I have been looking for a good skort pattern!!!
love that same coat pattern, the pea coat one is cute too.
ReplyDeleteI never think about Etsy for patterns! Such a good idea! (You don't have to include my comment in the giveaway... just saying hi :))
ReplyDeleteI am LOVING the Stylish Kids Coat - Double breasted, peterpan collar!
ReplyDeleteI like several but I think the Pea Coat is my favorite since I could use it for all my children.

Wow Christine, that coat is BEAUTIFUL, and so is your daughter! Now, how to pick just one favourite. I'd have to say that jacket that you've made. It looks super sweet, and I'm on a jacket kick (just completed my very first!), but closely followed by the big-bowed skirt pants (skort).
ReplyDeleteOh, I guess I should follow suit and mention that I'm Milee on SM.
I'm off to ogle the shop some more!
Miranda
Your coat is adorable! But it's rarely cold down here, so I think I'll go with the ruffled pinafore dress. So Sweet!

ReplyDeleteThe pattern that I liked the most was the REVERSIBLE CUTIE HOODIES FOR BOYS AND GIRLS. Kayden is loving hoodies right now and with the mild weather we have been having they are the perfect thing!
Oh boy-- loving the coat patterns but I've always had a soft spot for double breasted--= that pea coat is terrific!
ReplyDeleteThe pea coat is to die for adorable! I love the comfy look of the style for my 4 year old and ohhhhh it would just be precious on my 16 month old little girl! I would totally make this for sure! Wish it came in my sizing too!
