Would You Like To Sew With Me?

Things I'm thinking about here, right now, late at night...

1. Should I go upstairs and get another chocolate chip cookie?
2. Should I take my little girl potty before I go to bed or will she be ok till morning?
3. Where are my keys?
4. Do any of you want to sew with me?

What I mean is, do you have a pattern that is making you go cross eyed? I've had plenty of patterns like that!

Interested in a sew a long of sorts? I'm going to be starting some fall sewing shortly and love new patterns! Have a pattern that has you stumped? Leave me a comment with the pattern name. It has to be something I could use in my family too (little girl or little boy friendly). If there is enough interest I'll get the pattern too and sew along with you. Step by step photos.

No guarantees I'll have any idea what is going on either, but we can have fun figuring it out together! :)
Let me know what you think!

  2. I'm interested too, but I don't have a specific pattern in mind. Anything will do! :-)

  3. Sounds neat! Nothing in mind, but we are all about boys over here. There are a TON of girls tutorials, and boys get all left behind!

  4. I would be interested!! this patter from whimsy coture and I just don't understand the instructions for the shoulder seams. I really want to make one without buttons at the shoulders for my daughter for school. Her instructions that came with the pattern simply weren't clear enough for me.

  6. Sounds fun! I'd sew along..no particular pattern in mind though. And I only have a 2 year old little girl...so something for a boy wouldn't work for me

  7. YES sounds like fun! BUT can we do something boy related...boys always get left out of tutorials. :(

  8. or maybe another option would be a childs coat which could go boy or girl.

  9. would definitely be interested! I am wanting to make an Amy Butler diaper bag for a friend of mine. I haven't started yet and feel a little overwhelmed at all the steps and lack of pictures:)

  10. How about a child's backpack? That way it could be made for boys or girls depending on the fabric choice. I have been trying to make one for my four year olds for preschool and I can't find a pattern anywhere.

  11. I just thought of a pattern that I have that I am afraid to try. It is for a super cute car organizer to keep all your kids stuff in instead of having it roll all over the floor of your mini-van. It is from Craft Apple. http://craftapple.com/3-the-car-organizer-pattern.html

  17. I'm game for just about anything. I have 3 boys and 1 girl. Boys are quite leftout when it comes to tutorials!

I've been wanting to try a "Vera Bradley" type bag.
Hmm...I've have to think about this...

  18. Another vote for boy stuff. I have a 2 yo and an 8 mo. Maybe a cute romper would appeal to both genders??

But I'm really into sewing for me... so a dress pattern would be awesome. :)

  19. How about something from http://www.youcanmakethis.com/ so that we could all have the pattern right away! Plus it would be supporting a fellow mom rather than a company.

  20. Oh I would love this! I have been itching to make something for my daughter (a dress of some sort) but I have been intimidated by the thought of wasting that much fabric if it's a failed attempt! I am a self taught newbie to sewing. I about to try and tackle one of your scrappy clutches to take on our vacation so I don't have to tote a gigantic purse around. I am more confident in it, since it won't waste much material! :) I would love to sew along with you whatever you choose. I have a 4 year old daughter and a 1 year old son!

  21. I would love to make this!! Please! I'm dying for a vamp up in my closet. Why is it always "mom" that has the oldest, rattiest clothes? Why is it that everyone else gets nice, new, crisp clothes? I'd like to change that! Please!
