My Calendar Says It Is March

It is March, isn't it?

Why am I still plugging in my van? Can you believe that someone actually stole my extension cord the other day?

This is the kids' soccer net. Anyone care for a game? Oh wait, Little Dude would disappear. We aren't playing in our back yard right now. This is why.

The snow isn't as deep over by the swings. Last summer Dad shortened the chains and the girls had to jump up to get on them. You'd never know that now.

Anyone care to take a dip in the hot tub? What do you mean, what hot tub?

It's March, and the low for the day is minus 39?!

Even this guy is starting to look cold.

  1. I feel your pain. I thought those backyard photos were mine! ha ha. We have the exact same outlook...

  3. Fun pictures to see if you're not in it. I want to send you a lot of warmth :) so the snow would melt away!

  4. I'm in Australia... we've just had the wettest Summer on record... we're supposed to be just into Autumn and it is already feeling like winter! The seasons are completely around the twist this year... we only had about 3 warm days all summer!!!

  6. I hear you! WE're at the same temp you are at today and I'm wishing for spring and the chance to get the kids (who are going stir crazy) O.U.T!!
Here's hoping the rest of March is more....March-like for us!

  7. Wow Christine, you are kidding about crafting from an igloo! ;)

  8. I feel for you, we are suffering the same endless cold. I chuckled about the extension cord - I think I've had a number of them stolen over the years here!

  9. I completely sympathize! We are having very similar weather here. Cabin fever is starting set in among the small set. I'm allowing more activity inside than I usually do - jumping off the furniture into piles of pillows and blankets anyone?

This time last year we were in the middle of a thaw. The kids were playing in puddles and snow on their birthdays (coming up this weekend). This year the forecast is for -30. No outdoor birthday party this year!

    Extension cord thieves! Not nice!

Here's hoping spring arrives before Easter this year... :)

  10. Oh my! I promise never to complain about New England winters again! O.K. I probably will but just not to you! :)

  11. Ha ha, I used to puncture pieces of electrical tape and wrap them around my extension cords to make them old and ratty looking to cut down on the chance of them getting stolen.

Hope you warm up soon. We got re-buried in snow earlier this week and it's so cold and windy today that my kids don't want to go out. Blech.

  12. Okay, I'm not envious of your weather, honest...but wow, we totally got shortchanged out of a winter here in Texas! I sent the kids to school in shorts in February! Our trees leafed out last week! Maybe you could send a little bit of that down our way?!
